    On April 1st at the Department of Languages, Literatures, and Cultures McGill University in Montreal Ambassador of Poland to Canada Andrzej Kurnicki delivered a presentation entitled “Poland and NATO”. The lecture was co-organised with McGill Polish Students' Association – MPSA.

     

    The event was hosted by Mr. Daniel W. Pratt, Assistant Professor at the Department of Languages, Literatures, and Cultures.

     

    Ambassador A. Kurnicki’s presentation covered, among others, 20 years of Poland's membership in NATO; NATO’s role for regional and international security; cooperation among the NATO member states, including Canada; impact of the EU membership on security, economic and social development of Poland. Following his speech, many members of the audience engaged the Ambassador in QnA session.

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

    About 100 people took part in the event. Among the attendees there were mainly students of McGill and Concordia universities in Montreal from the Departments of Languages, Literature and Culture, International Relations and History, representatives of other countries’ general consulates based in Montreal, representatives of the media and members of the local Polish community.
