Embassy of the Republic of Poland has the honour to invite you to take part in our events „Poland: for Canada. With Love” which will take place between 2nd and 18th of June at International Pavillion at 531 Sussex Drive in Ottawa. Our events are organized in partnership with National Capital Commission on the occasion of celebration of Canada’s 150th birthday.

This anniversary is an opportunity to celebrate many years of friendly relations between Canada and Poland and to present our modern and dynamic country, proud of its history and traditions.

Our event’s program is addressed to art, music and history admirers. We are inviting you to join us and learn about  the achievements of modern Polish design in the form of a collection of “Ćmielów” porcelain pottery, ceramics from ”Bolesławiec” as well as the work of ceramic artists from the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Wrocław. Polish graphic posters will be presented by known artists – Mr. Andrzej Pągowski and Mr. Alfred Hałasa from the University of Quebec in Montréal. Join us at vernissages with the participation of the artists! Another and separate collection of graphic works will be presented by the artists from the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Wrocław. There will also be a  collection  of paintings by Polish artists from Montreal and Ottawa, both traditional and modern. Music lovers are invited to the recital of classical guitar music performed by Aleksander Wilgos, lecturer at the Warsaw Academy of Music and  to the jazz concert of the Litany Project Trio of Jacques Kuba Séguin from Montreal. Polish film music will be played by Juno Trio from Montreal.

For those interested in history we recommend the presentation of Maria Tarnowska's book "The Future Will Tell" (a panorama of Polish patriot’s history from the Second Polish Republic and World War II) with Paul and Yolande Tarnowski as well as  "A Thousand Years of Polish History", a lecture by prof. Patrick Połeć from the University of Ottawa. The history of friendly Polish-Canadian relations will be illustrated by an exhibit of the “Odyssey of Wawel's Treasures”, some of which were accepted for safe-keeping by Canada during the German occupation of Poland and two exhibits on military training camps for Polish expatriates from the USA and Canada, organized on Canadian soil at the time of  World War I and II.

The variety of Polish music from the most ancient to contemporary times will be presented by Ewa Monczak. The beauty of the Polish landscape will be shown through the photos by Agnieszka and Włodek Biliński and by the photographers collaborating with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland.

Attached you will find a detailed program of events. Hope to see you there!
